From Khajuraho Airport, you can hire a taxi or take a pre-booked car to reach Chitrakoot, which takes around 4-5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a connecting flight to Allahabad Airport (IXD), which is about 120 kilometers from Chitrakoot. From Allahabad Airport, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Chitrakoot.
Attractions
Gupt Godavari Caves
Gupt Godavari consists of two caves, one narrow and long through which a small stream flows, believed to be the Godavari River in hiding. The other cave has two stone thrones believed to be of Lord Rama and Lakshmana. It's a fascinating natural and historical site.
Ramghat
Ramghat is a prominent bathing ghat on the banks of the Mandakini River. It's believed that Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana spent time here during their exile. Kamadgiri
Kamadgiri is a sacred hill considered the heart of Chitrakoot. Pilgrims perform a parikrama (circumambulation) around the hill, a distance of about 5 kilometers. The path is lined with temples and shrines. It is believed that fulfilling wishes (Kamada) can be achieved here.
Sati Anusuya Temple
