During these periods, the trails in Volcanoes National Park are generally less muddy and easier to navigate, making the trekking experience more comfortable. While gorilla trekking is possible year-round, the wet seasons (March-May and October-November) can bring heavy rains, making the forest trails very slippery and challenging, although the lushness of the vegetation is unparalleled. Airport

Kinigi is approximately 100-120 kilometers (62-75 miles) northwest of Kigali, and the drive typically takes about 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Most visitors arrange private transfers or join organized tours that include transportation directly from Kigali International Airport to their accommodation in Kinigi. There are no direct public bus routes from the airport to Kinigi; however, you can take a local bus from Kigali's main bus park to Musanze (the nearest large town), and then arrange for a taxi or moto-taxi from there to Kinigi, although this is less convenient for tourists with luggage.
