The light station also includes the historic Keeper's House, which once housed the lighthouse keepers and their families. Legend has it that the lighthouse is haunted by a friendly ghost known as "Rue," adding a touch of mystery to its already captivating allure. Visitors can explore the lighthouse grounds, take a guided tour of the lighthouse itself (check availability), and hike the scenic trails that wind through the surrounding Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint. The area is also known for its tide pools, which are teeming with marine life at low tide. Transportation
From Yachats, head north on Highway 101 for approximately 12 miles. The Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint will be on your right. Parking is available at the base of the lighthouse. Consider using the local shuttle service during peak season to avoid parking congestion.
