Whether you're a seasoned classical music aficionado or simply looking for a memorable cultural outing, Garth Newel promises an unforgettable experience. The story of Garth Newel began in 1973 when Luca and Arlene Di Cecco, along with their close friend and fellow musician, Herbert Newel, envisioned a haven for chamber music. They transformed their farm into a vibrant center for musical performance and education. The name "Garth Newel" is a combination of the Old English word for garden ("garth") and Herbert Newel's name, reflecting the founders' vision of a musical garden. Over the years, Garth Newel has hosted countless renowned musicians and ensembles, establishing itself as a premier destination for chamber music lovers. At Garth Newel, you can attend captivating chamber music concerts featuring the resident Garth Newel Piano Quartet and guest artists. Enhance your experience with pre-concert dinners or post-concert receptions, allowing you to mingle with fellow music enthusiasts and the performers themselves. Explore the picturesque grounds, perfect for leisurely strolls and picnics. During the summer months, outdoor concerts are a particular treat, allowing you to enjoy beautiful music under the stars. While there isn't a specific culinary tradition tied to the center, the pre-concert dinners often feature locally sourced ingredients and seasonal menus, adding a delightful gastronomic dimension to your visit.
