Valley of the Moon Guide
Valley of the Moon: A Whimsical Escape into Storybook Land Guide
Step into a world of enchantment at the Valley of the Moon, a unique children's outdoor theatre and enchanted storybook land nestled in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains near Tucson, Arizona. This isn't just a park; it's an immersive experience where imagination comes to life. Prepare to be transported to a realm of gnomes, fairies, and captivating tales spun by dedicated storytellers. Founded in the 1920s by artist George Phar Legler, the Valley of the Moon was envisioned as a place where children could escape the ordinary and embrace the power of imagination. Legler, inspired by his own childhood fantasies and a desire to create a haven for creativity, meticulously crafted the winding paths, hidden grottos, and whimsical structures that define the Valley. Over the years, the Valley has remained true to its original vision, offering generations of children and adults a chance to reconnect with their inner child. At the Valley of the Moon, you can embark on a guided tour led by costumed characters who bring the stories to life. Explore the labyrinthine trails, discover hidden caves, and participate in interactive performances. Children can engage in imaginative play, solve riddles, and learn about nature in a fun and engaging way. While there isn't a specific culinary tradition associated with the Valley of the Moon itself, you can find a variety of restaurants and cafes in nearby Tucson offering Southwestern cuisine and other culinary delights.
