Benton Falls Trail Guide
Benton Falls Trail: A Gentle Hike to a Majestic Waterfall Guide
Escape into the beauty of the Cherokee National Forest with a hike to Benton Falls, a stunning 65-foot waterfall cascading into a picturesque pool. The Benton Falls Trail is a relatively easy 3-mile roundtrip hike, making it perfect for families, beginner hikers, and anyone looking for a refreshing outdoor adventure. Prepare to be captivated by the lush forest, the soothing sounds of the creek, and the breathtaking sight of the falls. The Benton Falls Trail is located within the Chilhowee Recreation Area, a popular destination for outdoor recreation in the Cherokee National Forest. The trail has been well-maintained and improved over the years, making it accessible to a wide range of hikers. The waterfall itself is a natural wonder, formed by the erosion of the surrounding rock over thousands of years. It's a popular spot for swimming, picnicking, and simply enjoying the beauty of nature. The main activity on the Benton Falls Trail is, of course, hiking to the waterfall. Take your time and enjoy the scenery along the way. Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy at the falls. Bring your swimsuit for a refreshing dip in the pool at the base of the falls (use caution, as the rocks can be slippery). While there are no specific culinary traditions associated with the trail itself, you can find local restaurants and cafes in Tellico Plains that offer traditional Appalachian cuisine.
