SculptureWalk: Art in the Open Air Guide

Welcome to SculptureWalk, Sioux Falls' vibrant outdoor art gallery! Imagine strolling through downtown, surrounded by captivating sculptures crafted by talented artists from around the world. This isn't your typical museum experience; it's an interactive journey where art meets the everyday, transforming the city streets into a dynamic and engaging cultural landscape. Get ready to discover unexpected beauty and thought-provoking creations at every turn. SculptureWalk is an annual program, meaning the sculptures are temporary installations, typically on display for a year. This constant rotation ensures a fresh and exciting experience for both locals and visitors. The program began in 2004 and has since become a cornerstone of Sioux Falls' cultural identity, attracting artists and art enthusiasts alike. It's a testament to the city's commitment to public art and its dedication to fostering a creative environment. While there aren't specific "activities" in the traditional sense, SculptureWalk offers a unique way to explore downtown Sioux Falls. Grab a map (available online or at the Washington Pavilion), and embark on a self-guided tour. Vote for your favorite sculpture to help determine the People's Choice Award! Many of the sculptures are available for purchase, so you might even find a piece to take home. Afterwards, enjoy the many restaurants and cafes that line the SculptureWalk route. Sioux Falls boasts a diverse culinary scene, from classic Midwestern comfort food to international flavors. Try a chislic (cubed, deep-fried steak) at a local pub for a true taste of South Dakota.
