The Arc of Dreams is a breathtaking sculpture that spans the Big Sioux River in downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This iconic landmark is more than just a work of art; it's a symbol of hope, perseverance, and the pursuit of dreams. The shimmering stainless steel arc, reaching towards the sky, has quickly become a must-see attraction for visitors and a source of pride for the local community. Created by South Dakota artist Dale Lamphere, the Arc of Dreams was installed in 2019. The sculpture features two facing arcs, each made of stainless steel boxes, that nearly meet in the center, leaving a gap representing the leap of faith one must take to pursue their dreams. The figures of dreamers are placed on each side, reaching towards each other across the void. The sculpture is particularly stunning at night when it is illuminated, casting a magical glow over the river. Visitors can admire the Arc of Dreams from various vantage points along the riverfront. Transportation
The Arc of Dreams is located in downtown Sioux Falls and is easily accessible by car, bike, or on foot. Several parking ramps and street parking options are available nearby. The Sioux Area Metro (SAM) bus system also serves the downtown area. Check the SAM website for route information and schedules. Routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 all have stops within walking distance of the Arc.
