Reach for the Sky: Experience the Inspiring Arc of Dreams Guide

The Arc of Dreams is a breathtaking sculpture that spans the Big Sioux River in downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This iconic landmark is more than just a work of art; it's a symbol of hope, perseverance, and the pursuit of dreams. The shimmering stainless steel arc, reaching towards the sky, has quickly become a must-see attraction for visitors and a source of pride for the local community. Created by South Dakota artist Dale Lamphere, the Arc of Dreams was installed in 2019. The sculpture features two facing arcs, each made of stainless steel boxes, that nearly meet in the center, leaving a gap representing the leap of faith one must take to pursue their dreams. The figures of dreamers are placed on each side, reaching towards each other across the void. The sculpture is particularly stunning at night when it is illuminated, casting a magical glow over the river. Visitors can admire the Arc of Dreams from various vantage points along the riverfront. Take a stroll along the paved paths, capture stunning photos, or simply sit and reflect on the sculpture's powerful message. The Arc of Dreams is located near several restaurants and shops, making it easy to combine a visit with a meal or some souvenir shopping. While the Arc of Dreams itself doesn't offer a specific culinary experience, the surrounding downtown area boasts a diverse range of dining options, from casual cafes to upscale restaurants, allowing you to savor the flavors of Sioux Falls.
