Transportation
Dowdy Lake State Wildlife Area is best accessed by car. From Fort Collins, take Highway 287 north to Highway 14 west. Follow Highway 14 to County Road 68E (Red Feather Lakes Road) and turn north. Continue on County Road 68E until you reach Dowdy Lake. The drive is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Parking is available at the lake.
