Transportation
Driving is the most convenient way to reach Horton Creek Trail. From Payson, take Highway 260 east for approximately 10 miles. Turn left onto Houston Mesa Road (Forest Road 289) and follow it for about 4 miles to the Horton Creek Trailhead. Parking is available at the trailhead, but it can fill up quickly, especially on weekends, so arrive early. There is no public transportation directly to the trailhead.
