The easiest way to reach Lake Minnewaska State Park Preserve is by car. From New Paltz, take NY-299 West. Turn left onto NY-44 West/NY-55 West. Continue to follow NY-44 West/NY-55 West. The park entrance will be on your left. Parking is available at various trailheads and overlooks within the park. Limited bus service is available, but it requires significant walking to reach the main attractions within the park.
