Discover the Hidden Paradise: Mossbrae Falls Guide

Prepare to be mesmerized by the enchanting beauty of Mossbrae Falls, a hidden gem cascading down a moss-covered cliff face near Mount Shasta. This stunning waterfall is unlike any other, with countless springs emerging from the cliff, creating a curtain of water that plunges into the Sacramento River. The lush greenery and the constant mist create a magical and unforgettable experience. Mossbrae Falls has a history intertwined with the railroad. The falls were originally accessible only by trespassing on Union Pacific Railroad property. For many years, the railroad tolerated pedestrian access, but due to safety concerns and liability issues, they eventually closed off access. In recent years, efforts have been made to create a safe and legal access point to the falls, preserving this natural wonder for future generations. The primary activity at Mossbrae Falls is admiring its breathtaking beauty. The falls are a photographer's dream, offering countless opportunities to capture stunning images. While swimming is possible in the Sacramento River below the falls, it's important to be aware of the strong currents. The area is also a great place for birdwatching and enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature. Remember to respect the environment and pack out everything you pack in.
