Browning broke his bat during a game, and Hillerich offered to make him a new one. Browning used the bat the next day and went 3-for-3, launching the Hillerich family into the baseball bat business. Over the years, the company, now known as Hillerich & Bradsby Co., has produced bats for countless Hall of Famers, including Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, and Derek Jeter. A visit to the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory is a grand slam of activities.
