Escape the everyday and immerse yourself in the soothing embrace of McCauley Warm Springs, a natural hot spring nestled in the heart of the Jemez Mountains, near Jemez Springs. This isn't a fancy spa; it's a rustic, natural pool where you can soak away your stress and reconnect with nature. Imagine sinking into warm, mineral-rich waters surrounded by towering pines and the sounds of the forest. McCauley Warm Springs has been a source of relaxation and healing for centuries. Native American tribes have long recognized the therapeutic properties of the springs, using them for medicinal and spiritual purposes. The springs are fed by geothermal activity deep beneath the earth's surface, resulting in naturally heated water rich in minerals. The area surrounding the springs is also home to a diverse array of plant and animal life, making it a haven for nature lovers. The main activity at McCauley Warm Springs is, of course, soaking in the warm, mineral-rich water. The pool is relatively small and can get crowded, especially on weekends, so plan accordingly. The hike to the springs is approximately 2 miles each way, and it's a moderate climb, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. Remember to pack out everything you pack in and leave no trace behind. Clothing is optional at the springs, so be prepared for a variety of experiences.
