Anna Ruby Falls: Witness the Majestic Twin Waterfalls! Guide

Escape the Bavarian-themed bustle of Helen and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Anna Ruby Falls. Located within the Unicoi State Park, these stunning twin waterfalls cascade down from Tray Mountain, creating a breathtaking spectacle. The falls are formed by Curtis and York Creeks, which plunge side-by-side over a cliff face, creating a mesmerizing display of power and grace. The falls are named after Anna Ruby Nichols, the only daughter of Captain John H. Nichols, who was one of the early settlers in the area. The area surrounding the falls has been preserved as part of the Chattahoochee National Forest, ensuring its natural beauty remains intact for generations to come. The falls are a popular destination for hikers, nature lovers, and anyone seeking a tranquil escape from the everyday. A paved, relatively easy half-mile trail leads from the visitor center to the base of the falls, making it accessible for most visitors. Once there, you can admire the falls from a viewing platform, take stunning photographs, and simply soak in the serene atmosphere. For the more adventurous, Unicoi State Park offers a variety of hiking trails that wind through the surrounding forest. While there are no specific culinary offerings at the falls themselves, Unicoi State Park Lodge has a restaurant, and Helen is a short drive away with numerous dining options.
