Goblin's Lair Guide
Descend into Adventure: Exploring Goblin's Lair Guide
Goblin's Lair is a challenging and rewarding slot canyon located within Goblin Valley State Park. This unique geological feature offers a thrilling canyoneering experience for those seeking adventure. Unlike the open expanse of the Valley of the Goblins, Goblin's Lair is a narrow, enclosed space that requires rappelling to navigate. It's a fantastic opportunity to test your skills and witness the power of nature's artistry up close. Goblin's Lair, like the rest of Goblin Valley, is carved from the Entrada sandstone. Over eons, water has sculpted this narrow canyon, creating smooth, flowing walls and deep pools. The canyon's name evokes the same whimsical imagery as the "goblins" above, adding to the sense of mystery and adventure. The primary activity in Goblin's Lair is canyoneering. This requires technical skills, proper equipment (ropes, harnesses, helmets), and a permit from the park. Participants must rappel down several sections of the canyon, navigating through tight spaces and potentially wading through water. It's a physically demanding activity, but the reward is an unforgettable experience. Remember to check water levels and weather conditions before entering the canyon. As with the rest of the park, there are no specific culinary traditions associated with Goblin's Lair itself.
