Their dedication to conservation has resulted in a thriving habitat that supports a wide array of plant and animal species. The preserve's trails wind through areas that were once part of the historic Beltane Ranch, adding a layer of historical significance to the natural landscape. Visitors can explore the preserve through a network of well-maintained trails, ranging in difficulty from easy strolls to challenging climbs. Popular activities include hiking, birdwatching (keep an eye out for raptors!), nature photography, and simply enjoying the tranquility of the surroundings. Guided hikes and educational programs are also offered periodically, providing deeper insights into the preserve's ecology and history. While there isn't a specific culinary tradition associated with the preserve itself, the surrounding Sonoma Valley is renowned for its world-class wineries and farm-to-table restaurants, offering a delightful culinary experience to complement your visit.
