Venture to Point St. George, a dramatic headland offering breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and a glimpse into the region's maritime history. This rugged and windswept point is a haven for wildlife, a paradise for photographers, and a place where you can truly feel the power of nature. Explore tide pools teeming with life, watch for migrating whales, and soak in the stunning coastal scenery. Point St. George has a rich history as a navigational landmark and a site of numerous shipwrecks. The treacherous waters surrounding the point have claimed many vessels over the years, and the St. George Reef Lighthouse, located offshore, was built to warn ships of the dangers. Visitors can explore the tide pools at low tide, searching for colorful sea stars, anemones, and other marine creatures. The point is also a popular spot for birdwatching, with opportunities to see a variety of seabirds and migratory species. During the whale migration season (typically November-December and March-April), Point St. George offers excellent vantage points for spotting gray whales.
