Transportation
The 199 Steps are located at the east side of Whitby. From the town center, follow the signs towards the Abbey. The steps are located at the bottom of the cliff, near the Church Street. There is no direct bus route to the base of the steps. The closest bus stop is in the town center, from where you can walk to the steps. For example, Arriva bus 93 stops at Whitby bus station, which is a short walk to the steps.
