Saklikent Gorge: Adventure Awaits in Turkey's Hidden Canyon Guide

Saklikent Gorge, located near Fethiye, is one of Turkey's deepest and most spectacular canyons. This natural wonder offers a thrilling adventure for those seeking to explore its cool, rushing waters and towering rock walls. Prepare to wade through the icy river and marvel at the breathtaking scenery of this hidden gem. Saklikent, meaning "hidden city," was formed over thousands of years by the erosion of the Esen River. The gorge remained largely undiscovered until relatively recently, adding to its mystique and allure. Today, it's a popular destination for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. Visitors can explore the gorge by wading through the shallow, fast-flowing river. The water can be quite cold, especially in the early morning, so be prepared! You can rent water shoes at the entrance. As you venture deeper into the gorge, you'll be surrounded by towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls. For the truly adventurous, there are opportunities for canyoning and rafting. After your exploration, enjoy a traditional Turkish meal at one of the riverside restaurants, many of which feature platforms built over the water. The local cuisine often includes fresh trout and other regional specialties.
