Reaching Rongbuk Monastery typically involves a long journey by road. Most travelers arrive via tour buses or private vehicles from Lhasa or Shigatse. From Tingri, it's approximately a 2-3 hour drive on a mostly paved road, though conditions can vary. Organized tours are highly recommended due to the altitude and permit requirements. Public transportation is limited.
