Khao Pattaya View Point: Capture the Iconic Panorama of Pattaya City Guide
Pattaya Viewpoint, also known as Khao Pattaya View Point or Pratumnak Hill, is the best place to get that iconic panoramic shot of Pattaya's sweeping coastline. Perched atop Pratumnak Hill, this popular attraction offers breathtaking views of Pattaya Bay, Jomtien Beach, and the surrounding cityscape. Whether you're a seasoned photographer or simply looking to capture a memorable moment, Pattaya Viewpoint is a must-visit destination. While not steeped in ancient history, Pattaya Viewpoint has evolved into a significant landmark in Pattaya's modern development. Originally a quiet hilltop, it gained popularity as a scenic overlook as Pattaya transformed from a fishing village into a bustling tourist destination. The viewpoint has been improved over the years with paved walkways, seating areas, and viewpoints, making it accessible and enjoyable for all visitors. At Pattaya Viewpoint, the main activity is, of course, enjoying the stunning views. Capture photos of the cityscape, the coastline, and the vibrant sunsets. There's also a monument dedicated to Kromluang Chumphonkhet Udomsak, the Prince of Chumphon, considered the father of the Royal Thai Navy. You can pay your respects and learn about his contributions. While there are no specific culinary traditions directly at the viewpoint, you'll find vendors selling snacks and drinks. The surrounding area of Pratumnak Hill offers a variety of restaurants serving Thai and international cuisine.
Transportation
The easiest way to reach Pattaya Viewpoint is by taxi, motorbike taxi (tuk-tuk), or private car. You can easily hail a taxi or tuk-tuk from anywhere in Pattaya. Alternatively, you can rent a motorbike and drive up the hill yourself. If you're staying near Walking Street, you can walk to the base of Pratumnak Hill and then take a taxi or motorbike taxi up to the viewpoint. There are also songthaews (shared taxis) that travel along the main roads near Pratumnak Hill, but you'll likely need to walk a bit to reach the viewpoint itself.
