Ao Prao (Paradise Beach) Guide

Ao Prao: Ko Samet's Serene Sunset Sanctuary Guide

Welcome to Ao Prao, also known as Paradise Beach, a hidden gem on the western coast of Ko Samet. Unlike some of the island's busier beaches, Ao Prao offers a tranquil escape with its soft, white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and a laid-back atmosphere. It's the perfect spot for those seeking relaxation, stunning sunsets, and a touch of luxury. Imagine yourself lounging on a comfortable sunbed, sipping a refreshing cocktail, and watching the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky in vibrant hues. While Ao Prao doesn't boast a rich historical narrative like some destinations, its appeal lies in its natural beauty and peaceful ambiance. The beach is relatively small, which contributes to its intimate feel. The surrounding landscape is lush and green, providing a picturesque backdrop for your tropical getaway. The name "Paradise Beach" is certainly fitting, as it truly feels like a slice of heaven on earth. Ao Prao offers a variety of activities to enhance your relaxation. Swimming and sunbathing are, of course, the main draws. The calm waters are ideal for a refreshing dip. You can also indulge in a massage on the beach, try stand-up paddleboarding, or simply unwind with a good book. Several upscale resorts line the beach, offering excellent dining options with fresh seafood and international cuisine. While there isn't a specific culinary tradition unique to Ao Prao, the resorts excel at preparing delicious Thai dishes with locally sourced ingredients. Be sure to try the grilled seafood – it's a must!
