Transportation

Yamchun Fortress is located near the village of Yamg, accessible from the Pamir Highway. From Khorog, take a shared taxi or private car towards Ishkashim. Ask the driver to stop at Yamg. From Yamg village, it's a relatively short but steep hike up to the fortress. The hike takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring water. Shared taxis depart from the Khorog bazaar.
