Shoushan Zoo has a rich history, dating back to 1951 when it was initially established as a small animal exhibition. Over the years, it has grown and evolved into a modern zoo dedicated to conservation and education. The zoo's location on Shoushan (壽山), also known as Monkey Mountain, provides a natural and scenic backdrop for the animal enclosures. The zoo plays an important role in educating the public about wildlife conservation and promoting respect for animals. At Shoushan Zoo, you can observe a wide variety of animals in their habitats, including African lions, Formosan black bears, chimpanzees, and many more. Take a leisurely stroll through the zoo's various sections, attend animal feeding sessions, and learn about the different species through informative displays. The zoo also features a children's play area and picnic spots, making it a perfect destination for a family outing.
