First Cliff Walk by Tissot Guide
Thrill and Views: Conquer the First Cliff Walk by Tissot Guide
The First Cliff Walk by Tissot is a thrilling and unique attraction located at the Grindelwald-First mountain station. This metal walkway clings to the side of a cliff, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Swiss Alps. With its suspension bridge, viewing platform, and cliffside path, the First Cliff Walk provides an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages. While the First Cliff Walk is a relatively new attraction, opened in 2015, it builds upon the long history of tourism and adventure in the Grindelwald region. Grindelwald has been a popular destination for mountaineers and hikers since the 19th century, drawn by the dramatic landscapes and challenging peaks. The First Cliff Walk represents a modern interpretation of this adventurous spirit, providing a safe and accessible way for visitors to experience the thrill of being high in the mountains. The main activity is, of course, walking the cliff walk itself! The walkway includes a single-rope suspension bridge, a viewing platform extending out over the valley, and a narrow path clinging to the cliff face. The views are spectacular, encompassing the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks, as well as the surrounding valleys and glaciers. In addition to the cliff walk, Grindelwald-First offers other activities such as the First Flyer (a zipline), the First Glider (a hang glider-like experience), and mountain carting. While not specific to the First Cliff Walk, Grindelwald offers traditional Swiss cuisine in its many restaurants, including cheese fondue and rosti.
