The Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar is a magnificent baroque church in Zaragoza, Spain, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It's one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Spain and a symbol of the city. According to tradition, the Virgin Mary appeared to Saint James the Apostle on the banks of the Ebro River in Zaragoza in 40 AD, giving him a pillar and instructing him to build a church in her honor. The current basilica was built in the 17th and 18th centuries. Visitors can admire the basilica's stunning architecture, including its eleven domes and four towers. You can also visit the Holy Chapel, which houses the pillar believed to have been given by the Virgin Mary. The basilica offers panoramic views of Zaragoza.
