Secluded Paradise: Discover the Untouched Beauty of Playa El Barrigón Guide
Escape the crowds and discover the hidden gem of Playa El Barrigón, a small, secluded beach located near Lastres. This tranquil cove offers a more intimate and natural beach experience, perfect for those seeking peace and quiet away from the more popular tourist spots. With its dramatic cliffs and crystal-clear waters, Playa El Barrigón is a true paradise for nature lovers. Playa El Barrigón, being a more secluded beach, doesn't have a long or documented history like some of the larger beaches. Its appeal lies in its untouched natural state. It has likely been a local secret for generations, a place where residents could escape and enjoy the beauty of the Asturian coast in solitude. The main activities at Playa El Barrigón revolve around enjoying the natural environment. Swimming, sunbathing, and exploring the rocky coastline are popular pastimes. The clear waters are also ideal for snorkeling. Due to its smaller size and more remote location, there are no restaurants directly on the beach. However, you can easily pack a picnic to enjoy on the sand or head back to Lastres for a wider selection of dining options. Remember to take all your trash with you to preserve the pristine beauty of this hidden gem.
Transportation
Playa El Barrigón is a bit more difficult to access than Playa de Lastres. It's best reached by car, and there is limited parking available near the trailhead. The walk down to the beach is steep and can be challenging, so wear appropriate footwear. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from Lastres to the lighthouse area and walk down from there. There are no direct bus routes to the beach itself.
