From Žilina, you can reach Strečno Castle by bus or train. By bus, take bus number 501506 from the main bus station (Autobusová stanica) in Žilina. The bus stop closest to the castle is 'Strečno, hrad'. By train, take a train from Žilina main station (Železničná stanica Žilina) to Strečno station. From Strečno station, it's a short walk uphill to the castle.
