Remember to wear appropriate hiking attire, including sturdy shoes, long pants, and a long-sleeved shirt. Bring water, snacks, and insect repellent. Photography is allowed, but flash photography is prohibited as it can disturb the monkeys.

Transportation

The most common way to reach Volcanoes National Park is by road from Kigali, Rwanda's capital. The journey takes approximately 2-3 hours. Many tour operators offer transportation as part of their trekking packages. Alternatively, you can hire a private car or take a public bus to Musanze, the nearest town to the park, and then hire a taxi or motorcycle taxi (moto-taxi) to the park headquarters. It's advisable to arrange transportation in advance, especially during peak season.
