Busteni Cable Car Guide
Ascend to the Heights: Experience the Bucegi Mountains with the Busteni Cable Car Guide
The Busteni Cable Car offers an unforgettable journey into the heart of the Bucegi Mountains, providing breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This is a must-do activity for anyone visiting Sinaia and wanting to experience the natural beauty of Romania's Carpathian Mountains. Prepare to be amazed as you ascend to high altitudes, leaving the bustling town of Busteni behind and entering a world of pristine alpine scenery. The cable car system consists of two sections. The first section takes you from Busteni (880m altitude) to Babele (2206m altitude). The second section connects Babele to the Caraiman Cross (2291m altitude). The Babele area is famous for its unique rock formations shaped by wind and rain over millennia, including the "Babele" (Old Women) and the "Sfinx" (Sphinx). Once at the top, you can explore the Babele rock formations, hike to the Caraiman Cross (a monumental steel cross erected in memory of World War I heroes), or simply soak in the stunning views. Hiking trails of varying difficulty levels are available, allowing you to further explore the Bucegi Plateau. Remember to dress warmly, as the weather at higher altitudes can be unpredictable, even in summer. There are also several chalets and restaurants near the cable car stations where you can enjoy a meal or a hot drink.
