It's an experience you won't soon forget. While Kanzel doesn't boast a long, storied history like some of Romania's castles, its significance lies in its contribution to Poiana Brașov's development as a premier ski resort. Poiana Brașov itself has evolved from a simple pastureland to a bustling winter sports destination, and Kanzel has played a vital role in attracting skiers and snowboarders from around the world. The slope's challenging nature has helped to establish Poiana Brașov's reputation as a resort that caters to all skill levels. The main activity, of course, is skiing and snowboarding! Kanzel is best suited for intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders due to its steeper inclines. You can rent equipment at various shops in Poiana Brașov. After a thrilling day on the slopes, be sure to indulge in some traditional Romanian cuisine at one of the many restaurants in the resort. Try "sarmale" (cabbage rolls stuffed with meat and rice) or "mămăligă" (a polenta-like dish) for a taste of local flavors. Don't forget to warm up with a glass of "țuică," a traditional plum brandy!
