Drive Through Paradise: Experience the Anjos Waterfall Guide

Prepare for an unforgettable and exhilarating experience at the Anjos Waterfall, located in Ponta do Sol, Madeira. This isn't your typical waterfall; it's a unique attraction where you can actually drive your car *through* the cascading water! Imagine the thrill of feeling the cool, refreshing water spray over your vehicle as you navigate this natural car wash. It's a truly memorable and Instagram-worthy moment that you won't find anywhere else. The Anjos Waterfall, also known as Cascata dos Anjos, is a relatively recent phenomenon, formed due to road construction in the area. The water source originates from the mountains above and flows directly onto the old regional road ER101. While not a historical site in the traditional sense, its creation and the subsequent adaptation of the road have made it a quirky and popular attraction, showcasing the ingenuity of adapting to the island's unique landscape. The main activity here is, of course, driving through the waterfall! However, be mindful of the slippery road surface and drive slowly and carefully. Many visitors also choose to park their cars and walk through the waterfall for a closer experience and photo opportunities. Remember to bring a towel and be prepared to get wet! There are no specific culinary traditions directly associated with the waterfall itself, but nearby Ponta do Sol offers a variety of restaurants serving traditional Madeiran cuisine.
