Transportation
Reaching Lagoa do Fogo is best done by car. From Ponta Delgada, take the EN1-1A towards Lagoa. Then, follow the signs for Lagoa do Fogo. There are several viewpoints and parking areas along the road leading to the lake. Bus line 302 from Ponta Delgada to Água de Pau can drop you off near the access road to Lagoa do Fogo, but it's still a significant walk to the lake itself.
