Art, Shopping, and History: Experience Stary Browar Guide

Stary Browar, meaning "Old Brewery," is a unique shopping and art center located in a beautifully renovated 19th-century brewery. This architectural gem seamlessly blends historical industrial elements with modern design, creating a vibrant and engaging space. More than just a shopping mall, Stary Browar offers a diverse range of shops, restaurants, art galleries, and performance spaces, making it a must-visit destination in Poznań. The history of Stary Browar dates back to 1844 when Ambrosius Hugger founded the brewery. Over the years, the brewery expanded and became a significant industrial complex in Poznań. However, in the late 20th century, the brewery ceased operations. In 2003, Grażyna Kulczyk, a Polish businesswoman and art collector, transformed the abandoned brewery into the Stary Browar Arts and Business Centre. The renovation preserved the historical character of the building while adding modern architectural elements, creating a unique and award-winning space. At Stary Browar, you can indulge in a variety of activities. Explore the numerous shops, ranging from high-end fashion boutiques to local craft stores. Visit the art galleries and exhibition spaces to admire contemporary art. Enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants and cafes, offering a diverse range of cuisines. Attend a performance at the Stary Browar Nowy Taniec (Old Brewery New Dance) theatre, known for its innovative and experimental productions. The complex also hosts various events and festivals throughout the year.
