Transportation
A 4x4 vehicle is essential for reaching Jebel Akhdar due to the steep and winding mountain roads. From Nizwa, take the road towards Birkat Al Mouz and then follow the signs to Jebel Akhdar. There is a police checkpoint at the base of the mountain where they will check your vehicle. Public transportation is limited, but you may find shared taxis from Nizwa that go partway up the mountain. However, relying on public transport is not recommended for exploring the area fully.
