The Derry City Walls, also known as the Walls of Derry, are a remarkable testament to the city's resilience and strategic importance throughout history. They feature seven gates: Bishop's Gate, Ferryquay Gate, Shipquay Gate, Butcher's Gate, New Gate, Magazine Gate, and Castle Gate. Each gate has its own unique history and architectural features. Walking the Derry City Walls is the primary activity, allowing you to immerse yourself in the city's history and enjoy breathtaking views. You can start at any of the gates and follow the well-maintained walkway along the top of the walls.
