Wine with a View: Rippon's Breathtaking Vineyard Guide

Rippon Vineyard is not just a winery; it's an experience. Perched on a hillside overlooking Lake Wanaka and the Southern Alps, Rippon offers some of the most stunning vineyard views in the world. This family-owned vineyard is a pioneer in Central Otago winemaking, known for its commitment to sustainable practices and its exceptional Pinot Noir, Riesling, and other cool-climate varietals. Established in 1975 by Rolfe and Lois Mills, Rippon is one of Central Otago's oldest vineyards. The Mills family has been dedicated to understanding the unique terroir of the region and crafting wines that reflect the land. Their pioneering spirit and commitment to quality have helped establish Central Otago as a world-renowned wine region. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings in the cellar door, taking in the panoramic views while sampling Rippon's award-winning wines. Guided tours of the vineyard are also available, offering insights into the winemaking process and the history of the estate. Rippon also hosts weddings and events, making it a truly special place to celebrate. While there isn't a specific culinary tradition tied directly to Rippon, many local restaurants feature Rippon wines paired with regional cuisine, such as lamb and locally sourced produce.
