The area is also home to a variety of native flora and fauna, adding to its natural appeal. The main activity is hiking! Choose from several trails, including the Diamond Lake Circuit Track (easy), the Lake Wanaka Lookout Track (moderate), and the Rocky Mountain Summit Track (challenging). Pack plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen, and wear appropriate footwear. The views from the summit of Rocky Mountain are truly spectacular and well worth the effort.
