Transportation
The Hokitika Gorge is located approximately 33 kilometers (20 miles) inland from Hokitika. The most convenient way to reach the gorge is by car. From Hokitika, follow State Highway 6 south towards Ross, then turn onto Kokatahi-Kowhitirangi Road. Follow this road until you reach the Hokitika Gorge Road, which leads directly to the gorge's parking area. There is no public transportation available to the Hokitika Gorge.
