NEMO Science Museum: Explore the Wonders of Science! Guide

Welcome to NEMO Science Museum, Amsterdam's premier destination for interactive science and technology exhibits! Housed in a striking green copper building designed by Renzo Piano, NEMO offers a fun and educational experience for visitors of all ages. Prepare to be amazed as you delve into the world of physics, chemistry, biology, and engineering through hands-on displays and engaging demonstrations. NEMO doesn't have a long, complex history like some museums. It was founded in 1988 as the "New Metropolis" and later rebranded as NEMO. Its primary goal has always been to make science accessible and exciting for the public. The building itself, resembling a ship emerging from the IJ harbor, is a modern architectural landmark. At NEMO, you can conduct your own experiments in the science lab, learn about the human body, explore the principles of energy, and even create your own chain reaction. The museum features multiple floors of interactive exhibits, a rooftop terrace with stunning city views, and regular workshops and demonstrations. Don't miss the opportunity to learn about the science behind everyday phenomena in a playful and stimulating environment. While NEMO doesn't have a specific culinary tradition, the rooftop terrace café offers a variety of snacks and drinks to enjoy while taking in the panoramic views.
