Witness Nature's Masterpiece: Legzira Beach Guide

Legzira Beach, located near Sidi Ifni, was once famous for its magnificent natural arches carved by the ocean. While one of the iconic arches sadly collapsed in 2016, the beach remains a stunning destination with its dramatic cliffs, red rock formations, and powerful waves. It's a place where you can connect with nature and witness the raw power of the Atlantic Ocean. The geological formations at Legzira Beach have been shaped over millions of years by the relentless forces of wind and water. The red sandstone cliffs and arches were formed through erosion, creating a unique and awe-inspiring landscape. The beach's name, "Legzira," is believed to be derived from a local Berber word meaning "island," possibly referring to the rock formations that once stood offshore. Despite the loss of one arch, Legzira Beach still offers a range of activities. Surfing and paragliding are popular due to the strong winds and waves. You can also enjoy swimming (though be mindful of the currents), sunbathing, and exploring the remaining rock formations. The beach is particularly beautiful at sunset, when the red cliffs are bathed in golden light. While not directly on the beach, nearby Sidi Ifni offers a variety of dining options, with a focus on fresh seafood.
