Transportation
The easiest way to reach Akumal Beach from Tulum is by colectivo (shared minivan). Head to the main highway (Highway 307) and flag down a colectivo heading north towards Playa del Carmen. Tell the driver you want to go to Akumal. The ride takes about 30-40 minutes. From Playa del Carmen, you can take a colectivo heading south. Taxis are also available but are significantly more expensive.
