Transportation
Reaching Kohunlich generally requires a rental car or hiring a taxi from Chetumal. From Chetumal, take Highway 186 west towards Francisco Escarcega. Kohunlich is located approximately 65 kilometers (40 miles) west of Chetumal. Look for signs indicating the archaeological site. The drive takes about an hour. There is no direct public transportation to the site. Once at the site, the trails are accessible on foot from the main archaeological area.
