Transportation
The Haute-Ville is best explored on foot due to its narrow, winding streets. It's a steep climb from the lower parts of Fianarantsoa, so be prepared for some exercise. You can take a taxi-brousse (bush taxi) to the base of the hill and then walk up. Alternatively, hire a taxi to take you as far up as possible, but be aware that some streets are too narrow for vehicles.
