Transportation
Getting to Sary-Chelek Lake requires a bit of planning. First, travel to Kanysh-Kiya from Bishkek (see Chatkal Range transportation). From Kanysh-Kiya, you'll need to arrange transportation to the Sary-Chelek Nature Reserve. This is typically done by hiring a local taxi or 4x4 vehicle, as the road to the lake can be rough. It's advisable to arrange transportation in advance, especially during peak season. Some guesthouses in Kanysh-Kiya can assist with arranging transportation and permits for the reserve.
