It's a haven for nature lovers, hikers, and anyone seeking tranquility and a connection with the natural world. Established in 1988 by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), the Ajloun Forest Reserve aims to protect the region's biodiversity and promote sustainable tourism. The reserve is home to a variety of wildlife, including roe deer, foxes, wild boar, and numerous bird species. It also plays a vital role in preserving the region's water resources and preventing soil erosion. The Ajloun Forest Reserve offers a range of activities for visitors. Hike along well-marked trails, enjoying the fresh air and stunning scenery. Participate in guided nature walks to learn about the local flora and fauna. Stay overnight in the reserve's eco-lodge for a truly immersive experience. Visit the Soap House, where local women produce traditional olive oil soap. The Ajloun area is known for its high-quality olive oil, and you can find many local products made with it, including delicious olive oil-based dishes.
