The easiest way to reach Shimoda is by taking the Izukyu Railway from Ito Station. Ito Station is accessible from Tokyo via the JR Odoriko limited express train. The Izukyu Railway line runs directly to Izukyu-Shimoda Station, the main station in Shimoda. The journey from Ito to Izukyu-Shimoda takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
