Shiroi Koibito Park Guide

Sweet Memories Baked Fresh Daily: Shiroi Koibito Park Guide

Welcome to Shiroi Koibito Park, a whimsical wonderland dedicated to the iconic Shiroi Koibito (White Lover) cookies! More than just a factory tour, this charming park is a delightful experience for all ages, blending confectionary history with European-inspired architecture and playful attractions. Prepare to be transported to a world of chocolate, cookies, and pure, unadulterated sweetness. It's a perfect escape from the bustling city and a chance to indulge your inner child (and your sweet tooth!). The Shiroi Koibito cookie, a delicate combination of white chocolate sandwiched between two langue de chat biscuits, was first created in 1976 by ISHIYA, the company behind the park. Legend has it that the founder, while skiing in Hokkaido, was struck by the beauty of the snow-covered mountains and was inspired to create a sweet treat that captured that feeling. The park itself was later established to showcase the cookie's production process and to offer visitors a glimpse into the world of chocolate and confectionery. It has since become a beloved Sapporo landmark, attracting visitors from around the globe. Shiroi Koibito Park offers a plethora of activities. Take a tour of the chocolate factory to witness the Shiroi Koibito cookies being made, from the mixing of the dough to the final packaging. Participate in a cookie-making workshop and create your own personalized Shiroi Koibito. Explore the beautifully landscaped gardens, complete with a rose garden, a clock tower that puts on a charming performance every hour, and a miniature railway. Indulge in delectable treats at the park's cafes and restaurants, including the signature Shiroi Koibito parfait and other chocolate-themed delights. Don't forget to visit the Chocolate Lounge, where you can savor a variety of exquisite chocolates and learn about the history of chocolate making.
