Odaru Waterfall: Embrace Nature's Majesty in Kawazu Guide

Prepare to be awestruck by the sheer power and beauty of Odaru Waterfall, one of the Seven Waterfalls of Kawazu. "Odaru" translates to "Great Waterfall," and it certainly lives up to its name. Plunging 30 meters into a deep pool surrounded by lush greenery, Odaru offers a breathtaking spectacle and a refreshing escape into nature. This is more than just a waterfall; it's an experience that engages all your senses. Odaru Waterfall has been a source of inspiration and reverence for centuries. The surrounding area is steeped in local folklore and legends, adding to the waterfall's mystique. The path leading to the waterfall itself is part of the "Seven Waterfalls Trail," a popular hiking route that allows visitors to explore the natural beauty of the Kawazu region. The trail is well-maintained, but comfortable shoes are recommended. The main activity is, of course, viewing the magnificent Odaru Waterfall. However, the experience extends beyond just the visual. You can hike the Seven Waterfalls Trail, taking in the other smaller but equally charming waterfalls along the way. There's also a unique onsen (hot spring) experience available at Amagiso Ryokan, where you can bathe in a rotenburo (outdoor bath) with a direct view of Odaru Waterfall. This is a truly unforgettable experience! The area also offers local restaurants serving fresh seafood and other regional specialties.

Transportation

From Kawazu Station (伊豆急行線), take the Tokai Bus bound for "Shuzenji" (修善寺) or "Yumigahama" (弓ヶ浜). Get off at the "Odaru Iriguchi" (大滝入口) bus stop. From there, it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the waterfall.
